Best DIY Cocktails for Labor Day 2021

Whether you are hosting a Labor Day backyard grill, or just want a fun new recipe for your arsenal, I’ve found a great array of easy options to choose from.

The Oilman

Hands down, my favorite cocktail. Who doesn’t love a drink with edible gold flakes and rock candy. Meet… the Oilman

Ingredients:

1.5 oz Código 1530 Blanco Tequila

1.5 oz Cointreau Noir

.5 oz Lime juice

.5 oz Agave Syrup

Gold Kosher Salt & Gold Flakes

Rock Candy

In a shaker filled with ice, add tequila, Cointreau Noir, lime juice, and agave syrup. Shake and serve into a Rocks glass with a gold salted rim. Garnish with gold flakes and stir with rock candy.

Pumpkin Margarita

Getting ahead of the upcoming pumpkin spice craze is this tasty twist on the traditional margarita. There is nothing traditional about it….

Ingredients

1 ½ oz. Tequila Cazadores Reposado

1 oz. Bols Pumpkin Spice Liqueur

2 oz. Orange Juice

½ oz. Lemon Juice

Dash of Cinnamon Powder

Combine all ingredients with ice. Shake and serve over the rocks. Rim glass with cinnamon sugar and garnish with slices of lime and orange.

A lazy summer day isn’t complete without watermelon which is why I loved this refreshing drink…

Ingredients

2 oz. Tattersall Gin

1 oz. Fresh Watermelon Juice

.75 oz. Lemon Juice

.5 oz. Tattersall Bitter Orange Liqueur

.75 oz. Simple Syrup

Pour into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until well chilled. Strain into a wine glass over fresh ice and garnish with a watermelon slice.

Neon Nights

With flavors such as dragonfruit and curaçao, the Neon Night cocktail will allow you to savor the final bits of Summer.

Ingredients

1.5oz Don Papa 7
2.5oz fresh dragon fruit, puréed
0.5oz almond orgeat
0.3oz yuzu juice
0.3oz blue curaçao

Combine all ingredients in a shaker without ice and shake vigorously to incorporate. Pour into a glass filled with pebble ice, adding more to create a crown over the glass. Garnish with a wheel of fresh dragon fruit and sprinkle with crushed, freeze-dried raspberry.

For those who like to keep things simple, The Gospel’s Straight Rye Whiskey is best served neat.

1 oz Sexy AF Triple Sexy

1/2 oz Sexy AF Amar-Oh

Olive

Add ingredients into shaker. Add ice. Shake. Strain into martini glass. Garnish with olive.
