The Best New Cocktails for Memorial Day Celebrations

With the temperatures already hitting 100 degrees in Texas, this holiday weekend I am ready for the pool, some fun beats and an ice cold beverage.

Whether you are grilling out with friends, or just enjoying some downtime solo, I’ve got a few tasty new recipes for you to try. If you are looking for something fun, but without alcohol, I’ve got that covered too!

GOSPEL COFFEE IRISH COFFEE MILKSHAKE

1.5 oz Jameson Irish Whiskey

4 scoops vanilla ice cream

1.5 oz Simple Syrup

3/4 oz Kahlua

1.5 oz cold brew concentrate coffee

Directions: Top with a splash of Nitro coffee and whipped cream.

Havana Club Corazon De Melon

HAVANA CLUB CORAZON DE MELON

1 cups cubed honeydew (1 melon)

2 oz HAVANA CLUB Blanco

¾ oz fresh lime juice

1 teaspoon of honey

½ cup crushed ice

optional — Dash of Orange Bitters

Directions: Place all ingredients in a blender except crushed ice. Blend, starting at low speed and moving up to high speed until honeydew is pureed. Add crushed ice and blend again until incorporated.

2 oz Bib & Tucker 6-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon

.75 oz Sour cherries syrup

.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice

Dash of Angostura bitters

Lemon wedge

Directions: Shake all ingredients. Serve in a double rocks glass over ice.

Codigo Ginger Repo

THE GINGER REPO

1.5 oz Código 1530 Reposado Tequila

0.5 oz Lemon Juice

Ginger Beer

Directions: In a glass with fresh ice, add Código 1530 Reposado and Lemon. Stir together and fill to the top with Ginger Beer. Rim is dipped in gold sugar or tajin.

Ginger Lemon Freeze

GINGER LEMON FREEZE

50 ml (2oz) Glenmorangie Original

15 ml (1/2oz) Ginger Syrup

2 scoops Lemon Sorbet

1 scoop Vanilla Ice-cream

1 scoop Crushed Ice

Grated Lemon Zest, to garnish

Directions: Tumble everything into a blender and blitz until smooth. Pour the results into a glass (chilled, of course) and grate on some lemon zest to release an inviting citrus hit.

La Voloma

LA VOLOMA

2 oz Volcan Blanco Tequila

¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice

1.5 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice

¾ Oz Agave Syrup

A pinch of salt

Directions: Combine Volcan Blanco, fresh lime and grapefruit juice, salt and agave syrup in a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain over ice in a highball glass. Top with soda water and garnish with a grapefruit wedge.

Strawberry Ginger Limelight (Non Alcoholic)

STRAWBERRY GINGER LIMELIGHT

3 Strawberries

3 Mint Leaves

½ Part Fresh Lime Juice

1 Part Simple Syrup

3 Parts (1/2 bottle) Betty Buzz Ginger Beer

Fresh Sliced Strawberry and Mint

Directions: Muddle strawberries, mint, lime juice and simple syrup in a shaker. Pour entire shaker contents into a highball glass. Fill with ice and top with Betty Buzz Ginger Beer. Garnish with fresh sliced strawberry and mint.

Red Bulls Sunset Float

THE SUNSET FLOAT

3 oz freshly squeezed orange juice

3/4 oz sweetened condensed milk

Red Bull Summer Edition Strawberry Apricot

Directions: In a highball glass, add orange juice and sweetened condensed milk. Froth until fluffy and light in color (another option: add these ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake without ice). Fill glass with ice and add Red Bull Summer Edition Strawberry Apricot. Stir to combine.
